Early Development Treatment
Most children are developing normally in the mouth. Some are not. Many dental abnormalities begin at a young age and they do not self-correct with time. In some cases they get worse and by the time children reach teen age, the orthodontic problems are difficult or impossible to correct completely. Imagine a child that suddenly begins to gain too much weight, or shows signs of learning problems. Most people would not wait to see what happens. The same principle applies in orthodontics.
When appropriate, early intervention can make a significant difference in the final result. Children should be screened for orthodontic problems at age 7 to 8. Dr. Beckwith is an expert. When in doubt, simply ask.
